my two week holiday stay in sweden. part 2: darlana (borlänge!)

since meeting david's borlänge friends i am convinced this is where all the swedish rock stars come from.
and i was right. nothing was more magical then their neighborhoods, neighbors, home, town and habitat in charming darlana, sweden!

oh, p.s. i ate a horse too.  called "gustavskorv." totally. ate. a. horse. (! a ha ha!)

and then on a lovely joyride with david and his father, lennart by lake siljan i saw three horses on the side of the road! well, what i thought were horses were precious, swedish ÄLG! ELK! so close! i ran out to grab some shots, and as they passed one looked RIGHT AT ME AND MY CAMERA, so back into the car i ran! little did they know i would eat them for my birthday the following week! ha! :)

and then papa hjelm took us into stockholm for a hockey game, which got a bit out of hand! the two biggest teams from stockholm went head to head for a nasty faceoff!
the fans were all riled up, rioting, police were called, smoke bombs went off, the game stopped and we were yelled at by an announcer that THERE WOULDNT BE ANYMORE GAMES LIKE THIS IF WE KEPT IT UP!

christmas day in borlänge på engelska pub.

this is my first ULRIKA i have met in all my swedish adventures! it is for ben brown in the tea shop in boston; while doing my swedish homework one day, was a drawn girl with the name Ulrika who looked like a sea monster coming out of the ocean with seaweed all over her. just to set everyone clear; not all Ulrika's are sea monsters. :)

XOXO.
